Kieran Tierney (born June 5, 1997 in Douglas , Isle of Man ) is a Scottish football player who plays for Arsenal FC and the Scottish national football team as a full- back.

Career

Kieran Tierney began his football career in the youth of Celtic Glasgow . For the Youth Academy of Hoops graduated Tierney operations in the Glasgow Cup and the UEFA Youth League 2013/14 . He made his debut for the professional team of the Bhoys under the Norwegian Ronny Deila on the 33rd match day of the 2014/15 season against FC Dundee . He came on as a substitute for Emilio Izaguirre in the 81st minute . On matchday 37, in mid-May, the 17-year-old was in the starting line-up against FC St. Johnstone . During the 2015/16 season Tierney was able to fight for Emilio Izaguirre's regular position as a left-back. On the last day of the season Tierney scored his first professional goal against FC Motherwell . With Celtic he won the Scottish Championship for the second time after 2015. In June 2016 he extended his contract with the Bhoys for another five years until 2021. In 2017 he won the double of the championship and league cup with Celtic . In August 2017, at the age of 20, he led the Bhoys team onto the field as captain for the first time . In the same year, he prematurely extended his contract until 2023.

In August 2019, he left Glasgow after fourteen years. He moved to the English first division club Arsenal for a fee of £ 25m .

National team

Kieran Tierney played three times in the Scottish U-19s in 2015 . Opponents were there, Bulgaria , Slovenia and Ireland . In March 2016, 18-year-old Tierney made his debut for the Scottish senior team against Denmark . In November 2017, he led the national team as captain in the friendly against the Netherlands .
