Edward Keddar "Eddie" Nketiah (born May 30, 1999 in London ) is an English football player with Ghanaian roots who is under contract with Arsenal FC .

Career

Born in London and raised in Lewisham , Nketiah began his career at Chelsea , but moved to Arsenal's youth academy in 2015 and played for the club on both the U23 and U18 teams. In the 2016/17 season, Nketiah scored 15 goals in 16 games for the U18 and scored 12 goals in 26 games for the U23 team. After this season Nketiah was called up by coach Arsène Wenger for the preparatory tournament of the first team in Australia and China .

On September 28, 2017, Nketiah was called up to the A-team again, this time for Arsenal's Europa League game against BATE Borisov . He was substituted on in the 89th minute in which Arsenal won 4-2. His next appearance came just under a month later against Norwich City in the League Cup as a substitute in the 85th minute. He scored the equalizer after 15 seconds with his first touch of the ball, which allowed the Gunners to take extra time, in which they ultimately won the game.

At the beginning of August 2019, Nketiah moved to second division Leeds United on loan for the 2019/20 season . After the 26th matchday on January 1, 2020, he was ordered back from Arsenal. By then he had scored 3 goals in 17 appearances.
