Career
society
Michael O'Halloran was born in the Scottish metropolis of Glasgow in 1991 . He began his professional career in 2010 with Bolton Wanderers in England, having previously played in the club's Youth Academy. He was under contract with the Wanderers for a total of four years, but remained without league use. After he had only been used once in the FA Cup and League Cup until March 2012 , the now 21-year-old was awarded to Sheffield United until the end of the season , for whom he played seven times in the third division . In August, O'Halloran played on loan for a month at Carlisle United . In November of the same year it was awarded to the Tranmere Rovers . One month after his arrival at the club from Birkenhead , O'Halloran was able to achieve his first professional goal when he scored in the league game against Portsmouth FC in a 2-2 draw to mean a 2-1 lead. The loan from the Rovers was extended to the end of the 2012/13 season after the Scot's good performance in January 2013 . At the end of the season he had scored three goals in 23 games in League One, making him the team's fifth-best scorer after Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro , Jake Cassidy , Zoumana Bakayogo , and Andy Robinson . After returning to Bolton in the summer of 2013, he remained without a league game so he left the Wanderers in January 2014 and moved to Scotland to the first division club St. Johnstone . The striker made his debut for the Saints on January 21, 2014 against Partick Thistle after he was substituted on for Lee Croft . Two weeks later, O'Halloran was also able to score his first goal when he scored 3-0 in the round of 16 of the Scottish FA Cup 2013/14 in a 4-0 win over Forfar Athletic . After two more wins over the Raith Rovers and Aberdeen FC , O'Halloran reached the Scottish Cup final against Dundee United with his new club . Thanks to goals from Steven Anderson and Steve MacLean , St. Johnstone won it 2-0, with O'Halloran in the starting line-up. For St. Johnstone FC , it was 130 years after the club was founded, the first cup win in Scotland. By January 2016, O'Halloran had completed 72 games in the Scottish Premiership for the Saints and scored twelve goals. On February 1, 2016, O'Halloran moved to the Glasgow Rangers for a transfer fee of £ 500,000 and signed a four-and-a-half year contract. In the 2017/18 season it was loaned to FC St. Johnstone. In June 2018, O'Halloran moved to Australia for Melbourne City FC .
