The Scottish Challenge Cup was 2015/16 played for a total of 25 times. The Scottish football competition, officially held as the Petrofac Challenge Cup , began with the first round on July 25, 2015 and ended with the final on April 10, 2016 in Hampden Park in Glasgow. The 30 clubs of the Scottish Football League took part in the competition as well as the two champions from last year's Highland and Lowland Football League . Livingston FC started the competition as defending champion, beating Alloa Athletic 4-0 in last year's final . In this year's final, the Glasgow Rangers and FC Peterhead faced each other. The second division from Glasgow and the third division from Peterhead reached the final of the Challenge Cup for the first time . The favored Rangers won the final 4-0 and won this trophy for the first time in the club's history.
