Dean Shiels (born February 1, 1985 in Magherafelt , County Londonderry , Northern Ireland ) is a Northern Irish football player.
Career
society
Shiels played in his youth at the English top club Arsenal , but was never used in the first team. In 2004 he moved to the Scottish first division club Hibernian Edinburgh . In 2006, Shiels' right eye was removed, which had been blind and headache since an accident when he was eight years old. Shiels returned to the squad that same season and re-established himself in the first team in the following 2006/07 season. That year the Northern Irish also won the Scottish League Cup .
National team
In November 2005 Shiels made his debut for the Northern Irish national team against Portugal .
