The Scottish League Challenge Cup was played for the 24th time in 2014/15 . The Scottish football competition, officially held as the Petrofac Challenge Cup , began on July 25, 2014. The final was played on April 5, 2015. 30 clubs from the Scottish Football League and one team each from the Highland and Lowland Football League took part in the competition. The Raith Rovers started the competition as defending champions , and they prevailed against the favored Glasgow Rangers in last year's final . In this year's final, Livingston FC beat Alloa Athletic 4-0 . It was the club's first title in the Challenge Cup. Previously, the lions could only win the league cup in the 2003/04 season.
