The Scottish League Challenge Cup was played for the 6th time in 1995/96 . The Scottish football competition, officially known as Challenge Cup was held, began on 19 August 1995 and ended with the final on November 5, 1995 at the McDiarmid Park of Perth . The defending champion Airdrieonians FC was eliminated in the first round against Hamilton Academical . In this year's final, FC Stenhousemuir won the title against Dundee United . The clubs of the Scottish Football League took part in the competition.
