The cup competition, which was officially held as the B&Q Centenary Cup , began on October 2, 1990 and ended in the same year with the final on November 11. The clubs of the Scottish Football League took part in the competition. Dundee FC won the competition that was created for the 100th anniversary of the Scottish Football Championship .
