The Scottish League Challenge Cup was played for the 2nd time in 1991/92 . The cup competition, which was officially held as the B&Q Centenary Cup , began on October 1, 1991 and ended in the same year with the final on December 8. The clubs of the Scottish Football League took part in the competition, Hamilton Academical won the cup in the final against Ayr United . For the team from Ayr it was the second defeat in the final in the second edition of the competition.
