Jason Cummings (born August 1, 1995 in Edinburgh ) is a Scottish football player . Cummings, who plays as a striker, has been under contract with English third division club Shrewsbury Town since 2019 .
Club career
Hibernian Edinburgh
Born in Edinburgh , Cummings played in his youth at FC Hutchison Vale from Saughton . Then he played until 2012 in the Youth Academy of Heart of Midlothian . After a brief stint at Hutchison Vale , Cummings moved to Hibernian Edinburgh in the summer of 2013 . In addition to appearances in the U-20, for which he was able to score 22 goals in the SPFL Development League , he was already a few times in the professional squad of the Hibs . Cummings made his professional debut under manager Terry Butcher in November 2013 in the Scottish Premiership league game against Inverness Caledonian Thistle . For the club, the attacker was used in fifteen more games until the end of the 2013/14 season , but remained without a goal. After relegation to the second division at the end of the season, Cummings was able to score eighteen league goals in the 2014/15 Scottish Championship and thus secure the title of top scorer. In the 2015/16 season , the 20-year-old scored again eighteen league goals, but as third in the table, the promotion to the first division was again missed. The club was more successful in the Scottish FA Cup 2015/16 , which Hibernian was able to win with a 3-2 final victory over the Glasgow Rangers . In mid-June 2016, he signed a new contract that runs until 2020. In the following season, Cummings increased his goal count to nineteen goals and won the top scorer title together with Stephen Dobbie. Hibernian Edinburgh won the league title at the end of the season and thus managed to return to the top division after three years.
Nottingham Forest
On June 17, 2017, Jason Cummings moved to English second division Nottingham Forest and signed a three-year contract. In January 2018, Cummings was awarded to the Glasgow Rangers . Then to Peterborough United .
