Efetobore "Efe" Ambrose Emuobo (born October 18, 1988 in Kaduna ) is a Nigerian football player . The defender has played for Livingston FC in the Scottish Premiership since February 2020 and was a long-time Nigerian international .

Club career

Efe Ambrose was born in Kaduna from the state of the same name in Nigeria . From 2006 Ambrose was in the squad of FC Kaduna United, where he won the Nigerian Cup in 2010. From 2008 to 2009 he played on loan at Bayelsa United FC from Yenagoa , with whom he became champions in the Nigerian Premier League . In the summer of 2010, I moved abroad to the MS Ashdod from Israel . In the two years that he spent at the club from the Ligat ha'Al , Ambrose appeared a total of 67 times and scored three goals. In August 2012 he moved to Celtic Glasgow and signed there for three years. He made his debut for the Bhoys in the league game against Dundee United , after being substituted on for Scott Brown in the 86th minute . He scored the first goal for Celtic in a 5-0 away win against FC St. Mirren . At the end of his debut season in Glasgow , Ambrose was able to win the championship with the team in addition to the Scottish Cup . On March 1, 2017, Ambrose was awarded to Hibernian Edinburgh . During the summer break he was firmly committed by the first division promoted team. After 59 first division appearances for the Hibs , his contract was canceled by mutual agreement on January 4, 2019.

In mid-February 2019, he joined the English second division club Derby County until the end of the season . He remained without commitment for the club and was without a club for half a year from July 2019. In February 2020 Ambrose signed an 18-month contract with the Scottish first division club Livingston FC .

National team

Ambrose has played for Nigeria since 2008. With the U-23 of his home country, the defensive player won the silver medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing . For the A-Elf of his home country he also successfully took part in the 2013 African Championship , which ended with winning the title, whereby Ambrose was used three times in the course of the tournament and was elected to the team of the tournament.
