Alan Forrest (born September 9, 1996 in Irvine ) is a Scottish football player who is under contract with Livingston FC . He is the younger brother of the football player James Forrest who is active at Celtic Glasgow .

Career

Alan Forrest played in the youth team at Celtic Glasgow until 2013 when he joined the Ayr United U-17 team . Forrest made his debut for the Ayr first team in a Scottish Challenge Cup game against Queen's Park FC in July 2013. He came off the bench and scored the winning goal in the 89th minute at Hampden Park . With this goal, Forrest became the youngest goalscorer in Ayr's history at the age of 16 years and 321 days. Despite his young age, he was regularly used for the third division team from the 2013/14 season . The first season he closed with eight goals in 28 league games.

In the 2015/16 season Forrest reached the promotion playoffs with the club as runner-up behind Dunfermline Athletic . After victories over FC Peterhead and FC Stranraer, they were promoted to the second division. As a regular player, the midfielder played his part. In the following second division season , the direct relegation followed as bottom of the table. Forrest was the team's top scorer with six goals.

A year later, the direct rise was achieved with one point ahead of the Raith Rovers . In the second division, Forrest was able to reach fourth place with Ayr in the following two years.

Forrest signed a preliminary contract with Scottish first division club Livingston on April 10, 2020 . On June 1, 2020, the transfer free transfer took place, which binds him to Livingston until 2022.
