Marvin Clement Bartley (born July 4, 1986 in Reading ) is an English - Jamaican football player who has been under contract with the Scottish first division club Livingston FC since 2019 .

Career

Marvin Bartley was born to a Jamaican mother and an English father in Reading, about 60 km west of London . In addition to British citizenship, he has also had Jamaican citizenship since 2012. He started playing football in his hometown as a youth at Reading FC . From 2004, Bartley played for three years in the lower class non-league football . He played for Burnham FC, Hayes FC , Didcot Town and Hampton & Richmond Borough. In July 2007, the defensive midfielder moved to the professional field at AFC Bournemouth . With the club he played in the third and fourth English leagues. In January 2011 a transfer to the second division club Burnley FC followed for a transfer fee of 350,000 pounds . After he was regularly used in the first three years, he was awarded for the 2013/14 season to the third division Leyton Orient who later took him under contract. In July 2015, he switched to the then Scottish second division club Hibernian Edinburgh , with whom he was promoted to the Scottish Premiership in 2017 . After the 2018/19 season, Bartley moved to Livingston FC .
