Jonathan "Jon" Neil Guthrie (born July 29, 1992 in Devizes ) is an English football player who is under contract with Livingston FC .

Career

Jon Guthrie was born in Devizes, about 150 km west of London . From 2012 he played for the English third division club Crewe Alexandra . On October 23, 2012, he made his debut in the third division game against Swindon Town when he came on for Michael West . Before making his professional debut for Crewe Guthrie was loaned out to the amateur club Leek Town from the Northern Premier League . Four years after his debut, the central defender scored his first goal. In the game against Barnsley FC in February 2016, he scored the lead in a 2-1 defeat. With Guthrie as a regular player in central defense, the team rose to the bottom of the table in the fourth division at the end of the 2015/16 season . After a year in the fourth division that ended disappointingly in 17th place, Guthrie moved to third division club FC Walsall in June 2017 . With his new team he was relegated to the fourth division again at the end of the 2018/19 season . After his contract expired, he signed with the Scottish first division club Livingston FC .
