Marcus Roland Falk-Olander (born May 21, 1987 ) is a former Swedish football player . The defender and midfielder , who went through all of the Swedish junior selections, won the Swedish championship title with IF Elfsborg in 2006 and with IFK Norrköping in 2015 .

Career

Falk-Olander started playing football at Ödeshögs IK . There he caught the attention of those responsible for Svenska Fotbollförbundet and made his debut in the national jersey as part of the Swedish U-15 youth team. He was able to establish himself in the selection teams, so that he aroused the interest of the country's professional clubs.

In summer 2003 he joined the youth department of IF Elfsborg. At the club from Borås he went through the individual youth teams and held parallel in the association's selection teams. During the 2005 season , the defensive player made his debut in the Allsvenskan when he was substituted on for Andreas Nilsson in the 1-1 draw at Malmö FF shortly before the end of the game . As a result, he belonged irregularly to the squad of the first division team and was mainly used in the youth field and the reserve team. In the summer of the following year he came to his second league game for IFE. In the 1-1 draw against Djurgårdens IF , he was in the starting line-up on July 16. Again, he was unable to establish himself permanently because he suffered multiple traumatic brain injuries. Nevertheless, he had thus contributed to winning the Lennart Johansson Cup for the Swedish national champions. Again he had to wait a long time for his next professional appearance before he was allowed to appear as a substitute for Mathias Svensson in the 2007/08 UEFA Cup as part of the 2-0 defeat by Villarreal in the 2007/08 UEFA Cup .

The 2008 season missed Falk-Olander injury almost completely and returned in October to the football field after seven-month injury break. After he was only used irregularly at IF Elfsborg, the club decided to loan the defensive player to league rivals Trelleborgs FF . He couldn't prevail there either, as he was injured again at times, and was often only on the bench as a substitute for the defense line around Peter Abelsson , Rasmus Bengtsson and Dennis Melander .

In order to bring his training better in line with playing football, Falk-Olander moved in early 2010 on loan to local rivals Norrby IF in third-class Division 1 . After six months, however, he left the club on loan in order to IFK Norrkoping in the Superettan to change. There he established himself as a regular player and rose to the Allsvenskan at the end of the season with the team around Anders Whass , Viktor Rönneklev and Shpëtim Hasani . Shortly after the end of the season, he signed a two-year contract with the club. With the club he played against direct relegation, ultimately he occupied the last non-relegation place with the team. After a season overshadowed by injuries in 2012 , in which he only contributed to fifth place in the table in seven games of the season, he was then again a regular player on the defensive of the first division for long periods. Afterwards, Falk-Olander was mostly a regular player until the 2014 season, before he moved into the second tier due to an injury and sometimes only played a handful of league games per season. He only made five appearances in the 2015 championship season, and was only in the starting line-up in the duels with GIF Sundsvall and Åtvidabergs FF . In the 2017 season he finally played only one game of the season: as a farewell, he came on for Guðmundur Þórarinsson in the final minute of the 3: 3 draw against his ex-club IF Elfsborg on the last match day of the season .

When his contract expired at the end of 2017, Falk-Olander ended his active career and announced that he would from now on devote himself to coaching , personal training and fashion design .
