Lars Arnesson

Lars "Laban" Arnesson (born February 20, 1936 ) is a former Swedish football player and coach .

career

Arnesson played for Djurgårdens IF in the 1960s . With the club he became Swedish champion in 1964.

Arnesson trained after the end of his career, among others Skellefteå AIK . At the end of the 1970s he was very successful with Östers IF before he became Swedish national coach in 1980 as the successor to Georg 'Åby' Ericson . After failing to qualify for the 1986 World Cup in Mexico , he handed over the coaching position to Olle Nordin , but continued to work for the Swedish Football Association until he retired.
