Rudolf Kock

Jonas Rudolf Eriksson Kock (born June 29, 1901 in Nacka , † October 31, 1979 in Stockholm ) was a Swedish ice hockey and football player and football official.

career

Kock played ice hockey and soccer for AIK Solna . From 1918 to 1928 he was a member of the first soccer team and from 1925 played for them 32 times in the Allsvenskan . After a meniscus damage, he had to end his sports career in 1928.

Kock represented Sweden in both football and ice hockey on the international stage. He played 37 international games for the national soccer team , for which he also took part in the 1924 Olympic Games , and two international games for the national ice hockey team .

From 1945 to 1953 Kock was a board member at AIK. In this position he belonged to the Uttagningskommittén , the selection committee for the national football team. Thus he showed himself to be responsible for the successes at the Olympic Games in 1948 , when the gold medal was won, the World Cup in 1950 and the Olympic Games in 1952 , when Sweden came third. Even after the end of his tenure at AIK, he remained on the committee until 1962, before Lennart Nyman, an official national coach, was hired. From 1959 Kock also worked for Sveriges Television as an expert.
