Casper Ankergren (born November 9, 1979 in Køge ) is a former Danish football player . The goalkeeper was most recently under contract with Brighton & Hove Albion .

Career

Ankergren began his career at Solrød FC before moving to Køge BK in the Danish Superliga . Eventually he went to Brøndby IF after performing well . Ankergren won the championship title in Denmark and the cup twice . After Brøndby bought former Danish national goalkeeper Stephan Andersen , Ankergren left Denmark and was loaned to Leeds United in England . After outstanding performance, Leeds United signed him for three years, the transfer fee remained unknown. At the start of the 2009-10 season, Ankergren Leeds was number two behind goalkeeper Shane Higgs . On August 6, 2010, Ankergren signed a contract with his former Leeds United assistant coach Gustavo Poyet , in Brighton. He made his debut on August 7th in Brighton & Hove Albion's 2-1 win over Swindon Town .

After the end of the Premier League season 2016/17 , Ankergren ended his active career.
