Farum Kommune [ ˈfɑːʀom ] was until December 2006 a Danish municipality in what was then Frederiksborg Amt on the main island of Zealand . Since January 2007 it has been part of the newly formed Furesø municipality together with the former Værløse municipality . Farum municipality was in the northern suburbs of the Danish capital Copenhagen . It was about 23 km² and had 18,737 inhabitants (2006).

The main town was Farum .
