Until December 2006, Værløse Kommune was a Danish municipality in what was then Københavns Office on the main island of Zealand . Since January 2007 it has been part of the newly formed Furesø municipality together with the former Farum municipality . Værløse Kommune was in the north-western suburbs of Copenhagen and included the districts of Værløse, Hareskovby, Kirke Værløse and Jonstrup.
South of the main town is the Flyvestation of the same name , a deactivated military airfield. and the Rund- and Langdyssen in Jonstrup Vang .
The dolmen in Ryget Skov are located northwest of Værløse , at the western end of Farum Sø (lake).
