Jesús Navas González (born November 21, 1985 in Los Palacios y Villafranca , Seville province ) is a Spanish football player who has played for Sevilla FC since 2017. His position is right midfield. He belongs to the Gitanos ( Roma ) minority .

In 2000, Navas joined the youth department of Sevilla FC . He played his first game for the professional team on November 23, 2003 at the age of 18 against Espanyol Barcelona and quickly became a regular. With Sevilla he triumphed in the 2006 and 2007 UEFA Cup and in 2007 and 2010 in the Spanish Cup .
For the 2013/14 season Navas moved to the Premier League at Manchester City . After the 2016/17 season , he left the club on a free transfer because his contract, dated until the end of June 2017, was not extended. He moved back to his hometown club Sevilla FC , with which he won the UEFA Europa League as captain in 2020
National team
In 2004 Navas was used for the first time in the Spanish U-21 team . Due to chronic homesickness , which forced him to leave training camps and games abroad several times, he had to interrupt his international career.
It was not until November 14, 2009 that he made his debut for the Spanish national team in a 2-1 win against Argentina . He came on in the 81st minute for Andrés Iniesta . Four days later he played the second half in a 5-1 win over Austria .
In May 2010, Navas was nominated by Vicente del Bosque for the 2010 World Cup despite stiff competition . In the World Cup preparation game against South Korea on June 3, Navas scored his first international goal to win Spain 1-0. At the World Cup he was a substitute in three games, including the final against the Netherlands , and won the world title with Spain.
At the World Cup in South Africa, Navas initiated the decisive goal in the final by Andres Iniesta with a solo on the right edge of the field .
In the last group game at the Euro 2012 he was substituted on in the 64th minute for playmaker David Silva in the right attacking midfield. After a pass from Iniesta, he scored the 1-0 final against Croatia and secured the Spanish group victory.

Others
