Jules Koundé (born November 12, 1998 in Paris ) is a French football player who plays as a defender for the Spanish club Sevilla FC in the Primera División .

Career

Koundé started his first appearance for Bordeaux on January 7, 2018 in the sixteenth finals of the Coupe de France 2017/18 in a 2-1 win against US Granville . He played the 90 minutes of normal playing time and the full 30 minutes of extra time. He made his debut on January 13, 2018 in a 1-0 away win against ES Troyes AC in Ligue 1 for Bordeaux. On February 10, 2018, Koundé scored his first goal in Ligue 1 in a 3-2 home win against SC Amiens .

At the beginning of the 2019/20 season he signed a contract with Sevilla FC.

National team

Koundé made his debut for France's U-20 national team in 2018 . Due to his parentage, he would also be eligible to play for the national team of Benin .
