Daniel Filipe Martins Carriço (born August 4, 1988 in Cascais ) is a Portuguese football player .

Career

In the club

Daniel Carriço began his career at GD Estoril Praia , but then moved to Sporting Lisbon early on . After reaching the senior age he played on loan only in the first half of the 2007/08 season for SC Olhanense and in the second half of the 2007/08 season for AEL Limassol in Cyprus . The 2008/09 season marked his return to the professional squad at Sporting Lisbon. Despite his young age, he quickly established himself as a regular player thanks to consistently strong performances. In the course of the 2011/12 season he lost it again. For the second half of the 2012/13 season he moved to the English first division club Reading FC . He signed a contract until the end of June 2015 with an option for another year.

In the national team

On June 16, 2015, Carriço made his debut in a friendly against Italy in the Portuguese national team .
