Sergi Gómez Sola (born March 28, 1992 in Arenys de Mar , province of Barcelona ) is a Spanish football player who plays for Sevilla FC .
Career
societies
Sergi Gómez moved from CE Mataró to La Masia , the youth academy of FC Barcelona , at the age of 14 . Within four years Gómez won the championship with various youth teams in Barcelona. In 2009 he won the Liga de División de Honor with Barcelona's A youth team , where they fought a tough duel with local rivals Espanyol, in which his current team-mate Cristian Tello played. In 2010 he was first used in the B team, which was playing in the Segunda División B at the time . With Barça B, he made promotion to the Segunda División at the end of this season , after successfully coping with the play-offs with the team. In the play-offs he played every minute and replaced the injured Andreu Fontàs .
At the end of June 2010, Gómez and his long-term teammate Sergi Roberto , with whom he has played in a team since 2006, extended his contract until 2012.
In August 2010 he ran for the first time for the first team. In the Spanish Super Cup first leg against Sevilla FC (1: 3), he played the full length of the game in the central defensive position alongside Gabriel Milito . In the 2010/11 season he was a regular in the A-youth of FC Barcelona, which won the Copa de Campeones at the end of the season with a 3-1 win over Real Madrid.
National team
Sergi Gómez is also used in the Spanish youth national teams. In 2009 he took part in the European Championships in Germany with Spain's U-17s . Spain, which started as defending champions, were eliminated in the group stage after three goalless draws. Gómez took part in all three games over 90 minutes.
