Sergio Escudero Palomo (born September 2, 1989 in Valladolid ) is a Spanish football player . He is under contract with Sevilla FC .
Club career
Beginnings in Spain
Escudero played in his youth for several clubs from his hometown Valladolid . For the 2007/08 season he moved to Real Murcia . On June 13, 2009 he came there for his first professional appearance in the game against UD Salamanca on the starting line-up. Despite interest from Real Madrid , Escudero moved to German Bundesliga club FC Schalke 04 during the 2010 summer break . At Schalke, he signed a contract that ran until 2014.
FC Schalke 04
In the DFL Supercup 2010 he came into play at the beginning of the second half and replaced Lukas Schmitz . On November 2, 2010, he made his competitive debut for Schalke 04 in a Champions League game against Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Bloomfield Stadium . On February 26, 2011 Escudero made his Bundesliga debut in the home game against 1. FC Nürnberg . On May 21, 2011, he won the DFB Cup with Schalke 04 after a 5-0 win against MSV Duisburg . In this game he came on in the 43rd minute for the injured Hans Sarpei . Escudero initiated the fourth goal of the game from Spaniard José Manuel Jurado . At Schalke 04 he was always thrown back by injuries, including a hernia.
In the summer break of 2011, the Austrian international Christian Fuchs was signed . Escudero has since been used more often in the second Schalke team.
Getafe CF.
On January 25, 2013 Escudero was loaned to Getafe FC until the end of the season. In the home game against Real Saragossa he scored the final score of 2-0 with a direct free kick. On July 11, 2013 he was firmly committed by Getafe FC and became a regular on the left full-back position. For Getafe CF he played a total of 59 games in the Primera División and five games in the Copa del Rey . In the Spanish Cup he went without a goal, in the league he scored five goals.
Sevilla FC
At the beginning of July 2015 he moved to Sevilla FC , for whom he scored the 1-0 winning goal in his first league game (13th matchday) against Valencia CF. He won the 2016 Europa League with Sevilla FC .
National team
Escudero was nominated a few times for various Spanish youth national teams, such as the U-20 or U-21 , but was not used.
