Diego Carlos (born March 15, 1993 in Barra Bonita , São Paulo ; full name Diego Carlos Santos Silva ) is a Brazilian football player who plays for Sevilla FC .

Career

Diego Carlos started his professional career at Desportivo Brasil in the 2012/13 season and played on loan for São Paulo FC in 2013 .

On July 2, 2014, he moved to GD Estoril Praia and was immediately loaned to FC Porto B. He played his first game for Porto on November 5, 2014 in the Segunda Liga against CD Tondela .

The following year he completed 31 league games for GD Estoril Praia in the Primeira Liga .

In June 2016 it was announced that Diego Carlos would sign a five-year contract with FC Nantes . He made his Ligue 1 debut on August 13, 2016 in a 1-0 away win over FCO Dijon . At the French club, he quickly became a fixture in the defense.

In 2018, Diego Carlos received a red card after an apparent blow from the referee, which attracted international attention. The red card was later canceled by the French Football Association .

In June 2019, his move to Sevilla FC in the Spanish Primera División was announced.
