Nemanja Gudelj ( Serbian - Cyrillic Немања Гудељ ; born November 16, 1991 in Belgrade , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian - Dutch football player . He is under contract with the Spanish football club Sevilla FC .


Career

Gudelj signed his first professional contract in 2009 with NAC Breda . He played 79 games for NAC, scoring eight goals. After four years he moved to AZ Alkmaar and scored 16 goals in 61 games. On May 6, 2015, it was announced that Gudelj will join Ajax Amsterdam . His younger brother Dragiša and his father Nebojša also moved to Ajax. Dragiša now plays in Switzerland for the second division club FC Wohlen , while his father is used as a scout for the Balkans . In the first half of the 2016/17 season, Gudelj lost his regular place. He only played six games and was suspended in November 2016 after refusing to sit on the bench.

On January 25, 2017, Gudelj joined the Chinese first division club Tianjin Teda . He signed a contract that runs until 2020. After just one season, he moved to league rivals Guangzhou Evergrande . In 2019 he moved on to Sevilla FC.

National team

Gudelj completed three games for the Serbian U-19 selection . For the Serbian U-21s he scored two goals in 15 games. For the Serbian national team he made his debut on March 15, 2012 in a friendly against Ireland . On November 18, 2014, he scored his first goal for Serbia against Greece . Gudelj also got an offer from the NFSBIH to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina , but he declined the offer and chose Serbia.
