Marcos Paulo "Rony" Mesquita Lopes (born December 28, 1995 in Belém , Brazil ) is a Portuguese - Brazilian football player . The Portuguese national player can be used as an attacking midfielder or right winger and plays on loan from Sevilla FC at OGC Nice .

Lopes was born in Belém, Brazil , and came to Portugal when she was four years old. In 2003 he started playing football at AD Poiares . In 2006 he moved to Benfica Lisbon , from where he moved to Manchester City in January 2012 . For his first team, he came on January 5, 2013 in the home game against Watford FC in the FA Cup for his first competitive game and scored the goal in the 90th minute to make it 3-0. The 2014/15 season Lopes played on loan at the French first division club OSC Lille . With the team he failed in the play-offs for the Champions League at FC Porto in August 2014 and thus took part in the Europa League with her . There he made his debut on September 18, 2014 in a 1-1 home game against FK Krasnodar .

In the summer of 2015, Lopes initially returned to Manchester City. On August 28, 2015, he moved to Ligue 1 for AS Monaco . After only making two league appearances, he returned to Lille OSC on January 7, 2016 for a year and a half on loan. By the end of the season he was used twelve times and scored two goals. In the 2016/17 season Lopes scored 4 goals in 25 appearances.

For the season 2017/18 returned Lopes back to Monaco. There he was used in all 38 league games and scored 15 goals. In the following season he had 2 goals in 24 league games.

Before the start of the 2019/20 season, he moved to Sevilla FC . With the club he won the UEFA Europa League in the season , in which he was used in all group games as well as in one game in the round of 32. For the 2020/21 season , Lopes was awarded to the OGC Nice for a year with a subsequent purchase option .

National team

Lopes went through from the U16 selection to all national teams of the Portuguese Football Association . With the U19 national team , he took part twice in the U19 European Championship . In 2013 in Lithuania he reached the semi-finals with the team and in 2014 in Hungary the final, which was lost to Germany . In June 2015 he played with the U20 team at the U20 World Cup in New Zealand and reached the quarterfinals with the team. On March 5, 2014, he played for the U21 national team for the first time in the 2-0 win against Macedonia .

On November 14, 2017, Lopes made his debut 1-1 in a friendly against the USA in the senior team .
