Accommodation space

An accommodation space is Bauordnungsrecht a room in a lodging establishment that serves the guests to live and sleep.

The accommodation room is differentiated from the guest room , which is intended for the rest of the guests' stay, and the operating room , which is normally only accessible to the staff. A hotel room or a dormitory in a youth hostel are accommodation rooms . A suite or an apartment in an apartment hotel is considered to be an accommodation room.

For accommodation spaces, structural regulations apply, which are laid down in accommodation regulations. There must be two independent escape routes from each of these rooms . There are special requirements for fire protection , safety lighting and emergency power supply .
