Alexis Claude-Maurice (born June 6, 1998 in Noisy-le-Grand ) is a French football player who is currently under contract with the first division club OGC Nice . The attacking midfielder also played for various French youth national teams.
Career
society
Alexis Claude-Maurice began playing football at a young age at the US Torcy Val-Maubuée in the northern French city of Torcy , Seine-et-Marne . At the age of 16, he moved to the youth academy of FC Lorient . In December 2015 he signed his first professional contract with the Merlus and from now on he was in the reserve team. On August 4, 2017, he made his debut in the first team of the second division side when he came on for Gaël Danic in the 0-0 draw against GFC Ajaccio in the closing stages . He scored his first goal on March 16, 2018 in a 3-1 home win against US Orléans . On March 17th, Claude-Maurice signed a new four-year contract with Lorient. In this 2017/18 season he played in 20 league games, mainly as a substitute, in which he scored three goals. In the following season 2018/19 he made his breakthrough in the starting lineup of Lorients. Already in the first seven league games he had four goals and one template on the account and thus contributed a significant part that his club established itself in the upper half of the table. At the end of the season he had 14 goals and four assists in 35 games.
On August 29, 2019, Alexis Claude-Maurice moved to the first division club OGC Nice for a transfer fee of 13 million euros . He made his debut on September 14, 2019 (5th matchday) in the 1: 2 away defeat against HSC Montpellier , when he came on for Racine Coly in the 61st minute of the game . Claude-Maurice made it into the starting line-up soon after his arrival. On February 8, 2020 (24th matchday), he scored his first goal of the season for the Aiglons in a 3-1 home defeat against Olympique Nîmes . In this 2019/20 season he played 22 league games in which he scored a goal.
National team
On September 6, 2015, Alexis Claude-Maurice made his debut for the French U-18 national team in a 6-0 home win against Australia . In autumn 2015 he took part with the U17s in the 2015 U-17 World Cup in Chile , where he played in two group matches and scored a goal in the 4-0 win against Syria . He was substituted on in the defeat in the round of 16 against Costa Rica . Until April 2016 he ran six more times for the U18. On September 2, 2016, he made his debut for the U-19 national team in a 2-0 win over the United States . He made nine appearances for this selection before making his first appearance on November 8, 2017 for the U-20 national team in the game against Morocco .
