Cristian Tello Herrera (born August 11, 1991 in Sabadell ) is a Spanish football player . The winger has been under contract with Betis Sevilla since July 2017 .

Career

In the club

Tello started his football career at CF Can Rull at the age of eleven . In 2002, FC Barcelona added Tello to their youth department. In 2003 Tello was the top scorer in the Alevín age group. His development process then stagnated, and in the 2007/08 season he was finally awarded to CF Damm . After his contract expired, he played for Espanyol Barcelona from 2008 , for whose B team he made his debut in the 2009/10 season. At the end of the season Espanyol B was relegated to the fourth Spanish division and Tello returned to city rivals. For the Spanish second division club FC Barcelona B , he played 19 games in the 2010/11 season , in which he scored four goals.

In the first half of the 2011/12 season Tello was one of the most used players at Barça B. On November 9, 2011 Tello made his professional debut for the A-team of FC Barcelona in the 1-0 cup success over CE l'Hospitalet over the full playing time. In the second leg, Tello contributed two hits to his team's 9-0 victory. Since the squad of the first team was severely weakened by injuries, Tello came on January 28, 2012 in a 0-0 win against Villarreal to his first La Liga game for FC Barcelona. The following 22nd matchday Tello scored his first league goal for the Catalans, who beat Real Sociedad 2-1 that evening . On March 7, 2012 Tello scored his first two goals in European Cup; the 7: 1 in the second leg of the second leg of the Champions League second leg against Bayer 04 Leverkusen was also FC Barcelona's biggest win in this competition.

In the 2012/13 season Tello became an integral part of the first team and at the beginning of the 2013/14 season extended his contract until June 30, 2018.

For the 2014/15 season Tello was loaned to FC Porto for two seasons in the Portuguese Primeira Liga . End of January 2016 Tello was until the end of season 2015/16 in the Serie A to Fiorentina lent.

In the summer Tello was sorted out by coach Luis Enrique after his return to Barcelona , but traveled with the team to the pre-season game against Celtic Glasgow as part of the International Champions Cup . On August 16, 2016 Tello was finally loaned out again to Fiorentina. In the 2016/17 season he was used in 37 of 38 league games and scored four goals. In addition, Tello came to five appearances in the Europa League without a goal of his own.

For the 2017/18 season Tello returned to the Primera División and joined Betis Sevilla for a transfer fee of four million euros .

In the national team

In 2011 Tello was a member of the Spanish U-20 squad at the World Cup in Colombia. His team, for which he played three times during the tournament, failed in the quarterfinals against Brazil. In June 2013 he and Spain won the U-21 European Championship in Israel by beating Italy 4-2 in the final.
