Jolo Cathedral

The Cathedral of Jolo (English: Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cathedral, Spanish: Catedral de Nuestra Señora del Carmen) is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Jolo and the seat of the Apostolic Vicariate of Jolo . The church is under the invocation Lady of Mount Carmel of Our the Virgin Mary consecrated. The cathedral is located on Jolo, a volcanic island in the Philippine province of Sulu . Apostolic Vicar was Angelito R. Lampon , titular bishop of Valliposita until 2018 .

On January 10, 2010, a grenade exploded in front of the cathedral and destroyed the windows. The explosion occurred an hour before the planned fair. There were no injuries.

On January 27, 2019, the cathedral was bombed during a mass. At least 20 people were killed and over 100 injured.
