Angelito Rendon Lampon OMI (born March 1, 1950 in M'lang , Philippines ) is a Filipino religious and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Cotabato .

Life

Angelito R. Lampon joined the Order of the Oblates of the Immaculate Virgin Mary in 1962 and was ordained a priest on April 1, 1977 . After working as a pastor and teacher, he was appointed Provincial of the Oblates in the Philippines in 1988. He then worked for his order as Chancellor General in Rome until 1997.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on November 21, 1997 Vicar Apostolic of Jolo and Titular Bishop of Valliposita . The Pope personally donated him episcopal ordination on January 6 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Giovanni Battista Re , substitute for the State Secretariat , and Jorge María Mejía , Secretary of the Congregation for Bishops and the College of Cardinals . In the Bishops' Conference of the Philippines, Lampon was deputy head of the Commission for Interreligious Dialogue from 2009 to 2011, before taking over its leadership until 2015.

On November 6, 2018, Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Cotabato . The inauguration took place on January 31, 2019.
