Charlie Inzon

Charlie Malapitan Inzon OMI (born November 24, 1965 in Putiao , Sorsogon ) is a Filipino Roman Catholic religious and Vicar Apostolic of Jolo .

Life

Charlie Inzon joined the Order of the Oblates of the Immaculate Virgin Mary in 1982 and made temporal profession on May 21, 1986 and perpetual profession on September 8, 1990 . From 1988 to 1993 he studied philosophy at Notre Dame University in Cotabato City . He received the sacrament of ordination on April 24, 1993 in Caloocan . He then continued his theological studies at the Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City and obtained a master's degree .

After ordination, he took on various positions in parish pastoral care and at Notre Dame College in Jolo , of which he was president from 2010 to 2014. From 2014 to 2018 he was President of Notre Dame University Cotabato City and then Provincial of the Filipino Order Province of the Oblates.

Pope Francis appointed him Vicar Apostolic of Jolo on April 4, 2020. The Archbishop of Cotabato , Angelito R. Lampon OMI , ordained him episcopally on May 21 of the same year in the Cathedral of Cotabato City . Co- consecrators were his predecessor Orlando Cardinal Quevedo OMI and the Bishop of Kidapawan , José Colin Mendoza Bagaforo . The inauguration in Jolo took place on July 16, 2020.
