The Diocese of Kidapawan ( lat. : Dioecesis Kidapavanensis ) is the Philippines located Roman Catholic diocese based in Kidapawan City .

history

The Diocese of Kidapawan was on June 12, 1976 by Pope Paul VI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Quas Venerabilis from cessions of territory of the territorial prelature Cotabato as the territorial prelature Kidapawan . The Territorial Prelature Kidapawan was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Davao as a suffragan . On November 5, 1979, the Territorial Prelature Kidapawan was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Cotabato as a suffragan. The Territorial Prelature of Kidapawan was raised to a diocese on November 15, 1982 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Cum Decessores .

The Diocese of Kidapawan comprises nine parishes in Cotabato Province , two parishes in Maguindanao Province and one parish in Sultan Kudarat Province .
