The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia ( lat. : Archidioecesis Novae Segobiae ) is the Philippines located Roman Catholic Archdiocese based in Vigan .
history
The Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia was established on August 14, 1595 by Pope Clement VIII from cession of the Archdiocese of Manila as the Diocese of Nueva Segovia and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Manila as a suffragan .
The Diocese of Nueva Segovia was founded on June 29, 1951 by Pope Pius XII. with the Apostolic Constitution Quo in Philippina Republica raised to the archbishopric. On January 19, 1970, the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia gave parts of its territory to establish the Diocese of San Fernando de La Union .
The Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia includes the province of Ilocos Sur .
