The Archdiocese of San Fernando ( lat. : Archidioecesis Sancti Ferdinandi ) is the Philippines located Roman Catholic archdiocese , based in San Fernando . It includes the Pampanga Province .

history

Pope Pius XII established the diocese of San Fernando with the bull sample noscitur on December 11, 1948 from cessions of territory of the archdiocese of Manila , to which it was also subordinated as a suffragan diocese. In 1950 the seminary was founded under the patronage of the Mother of Good Council .

With the apostolic constitution Aptam Ecclesiarum , the diocese of San Fernando was elevated to the rank of metropolitan archbishopric on March 17, 1975 . It lost parts of its territory in favor of the establishment of the following dioceses:
