history
The diocese of San Fernando de La Union was founded on January 19, 1970 by Pope Paul VI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Qui disponente from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan as a suffragan .
It includes the province of La Union .
