Artemio Lomboy Rillera

Artemio Lomboy Rillera SVD (born May 1, 1942 in Naguilian ; † November 13, 2011 ) was a Filipino religious and Roman Catholic bishop of San Fernando de La Union .

Life

Artemio Rillera Lomboy entered the 1961 Seminary of Quezon City one. In 1964 he entered the novitiate with the Steyler missionaries in Tagaytay City , which was followed by his first vows in 1966. On June 28, 1970 he made his profession and received on November 28, 1970 through Pope Paul VI. the ordination in Rizal Park in Manila . He studied theology and philosophy at Christ the King Mission Seminary in Quezon City and the Steyler Seminary in Tagaytay City. After various pastoral activities, he was Provincial of his order in the Abra-Cagayan Province from 1979 to 1982 and in the Northern Province from 1982 to 1987. After the rectorate at the Steyler Formation Center, Urdaneta , Pangasinan , in 1988/89 he took over the parish of St. Lawrence Parish in Bangui , Ilocos Norte .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Bangued in 1993 . The episcopal ordination donated to him on August 28, 1993 Archbishop Gian Vincenzo Moreni , Apostolic Nuncio in the Philippines; Co- consecrators were Orlando Beltran Quevedo OMI, Archbishop of Cosenza e Bisignano , and Cesar C. Raval SVD, Former Bishop of Bangued. From 2003 to 2007 he was a member of the Commission for Social Communication and Mass Media of the Philippine Bishops' Conference CBCP and from 2003 to 2009 a member of the Commission for Prison Chaplaincy, since 2009 its Vice-President.

In 2005 he was appointed Bishop of San Fernando de La Union .
