The third educational path was a science cabaret program produced by Westdeutscher Rundfunk (originally) by and with Jürgen Becker . It was broadcast between 2008 and 2013 and ran mostly on Sunday evenings in the summer months.

Concepts

Jürgen Becker

The program is designed like a lecture to students. The audience present assumes their roles. Becker embodies the lecturer, who lectures and explains on a specific topic for each episode. Actual facts, anecdotes and blooms of style are combined with cabaret elements to create humorous highlights. Becker was supported in his show by cabaret colleagues Beate Bohr and Martin Stankowski : Bohr mimes Becker's assistant, who appears once or twice per show and provides the audience with additional information related to the topic (as well as cabaret-pointed). Stankowski, on the other hand, appears as an alleged permanent student ("80th semester") who reports in a kind of external report from places and people who are mostly known locally in the Rhineland or North Rhine-Westphalia and suitable for the lecture topic.

From 2009 Vince Ebert was part of the regular program, who lectured on similar and similar topics as a guest lecturer and incorporated elements of his stage programs. In addition, other cabaret colleagues (e.g. Konrad Beikircher ) or other people with extraordinary talents and hobbies also appeared. During the first season two female students were still part of the ensemble, who often made inquiries or mocking objections. This was later replaced by Ebert's appearances.

The individual episodes were shot in the premises of the natural history museum " Alexander Koenig " in Bonn .

In 2012 Becker took a break to undertake a “research semester”.

From July 14, 2013, the last season - lectures with Jürgen Becker - was broadcast from the Anatomical Institute of the University of Bonn .

Ebert and Hirschhausen

During Becker's break, Vince Ebert and Eckart von Hirschhausen took over the lectures. The presentation and location of the series was completely changed. The program was meanwhile called Ebert and Hirschhausen - The Third Educational Pathway and was produced on the former 4711 site in Cologne-Ehrenfeld . Nothing was changed in the concept, but the number of interviews with topic specialists was increased. The moderators were also supported by two women: the Austrian cabaret artist and wife of Vince Ebert Valerie Bolzano mimed the part of Beate Bohr, who appeared on the occasion and presented background information. In addition, Bianca Hauda acted as an outside reporter based on Stankowski .
