The Diocese of Ipil ( lat. : Dioecesis Ipilensis ) is the Philippines located Roman Catholic diocese based in Ipil .

history

The diocese of Ipil was established on December 24, 1979 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Rerum usu docti from cessions of territory from the Archdiocese of Zamboanga as the territorial prelature of Ipil . The territorial prelature Ipil was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Zamboanga as a suffragan . On May 1, 2010 the territorial prelature Ipil was by Pope Benedict XVI. raised with the Apostolic Constitution Quandoquidem Praelatura to the diocese.

The diocese of Ipil includes the province of Zamboanga Sibugay .
