Wilfried Guemiand Bony (born December 10, 1988 in Bingerville ) is an Ivorian football player . The striker has been under contract with Swansea City since the end of August 2017 and made his first international match for the Ivorian senior team in 2010 .

Club career

Wilfried Bony started playing soccer at Maracana Bingerville when he was five . From 2003 to 2005 the striker played for Cyrille Domoraud's Football Academy . His first position in the senior division was the Ivorian first division team Issia Wazi .

In October 2007 Bony moved to the Czech Gambrinus League for Sparta Prague . At Sparta he was first used in the B team. He made the leap into the A-team in summer 2008. In the 2008/09 season, the Ivorian was a supplementary player; in 16 games he scored three goals. In the 2009/10 season he was a regular player and won the Czech championship with Sparta Prague.

During the winter break of the 2010/11 season, Bony moved to Vitesse Arnheim and signed a contract that ran until 2014. In the 2012/13 season he was the top scorer in the Eredivisie with 31 goals in 30 games. For the 2013/14 season he moved to the Premier League at Swansea City . He signed a four-year contract and cost 12 million pounds sterling (approx. 14 million euros) transfer fee.

In January 2015, Bony signed a contract with Manchester City until June 30, 2019 . There he could not prevail, however, so that he was loaned to Stoke City on August 31, 2016 until the end of the 2016/17 season . There Bony came to ten Premier League appearances by the end of the year, in which he scored two goals. After taking part in the 2017 African Championship at the beginning of the year , he was no longer used until the end of the season.

For the 2017/18 season , Bony initially returned to Manchester City, but played no role in Pep Guardiola's plans , so he returned to Swansea City on August 31, 2017 . He received a contract until June 30, 2019.

National team

Bony made his debut on October 9, 2010 in a 1-0 away win against Burundi in the Ivorian national team .
