Willem Cornelius Nicolaas Kieft , short Wim Kieft , (born November 12, 1962 in Amsterdam ) is a former Dutch football player who was mostly used as a center forward.

career

He played at Ajax Amsterdam , PSV Eindhoven , Pisa Calcio , AC Torino and Girondins Bordeaux .

Between 1981 and 1993 he was part of the Dutch national football team 43 times and scored 11 goals. With the Elftal he also became European champion in 1988 . With a header against Ireland eight minutes before the end , he secured his team's qualification for the semi-finals against the German hosts in the final group game.
