Harald Nickel (born July 21, 1953 in Espelkamp ; † August 4, 2019 ) was a German football player .

Life

Harald Nickel started at his home club FC Lübbecke . During his active time, he played 97 times in the Bundesliga for Arminia Bielefeld , Eintracht Braunschweig and Borussia Mönchengladbach, among others , and scored 48 goals. From 1972 to 1978 he played for Belgian clubs. In 1979 and 1980 the striker wore the jersey of the German national soccer team three times . A particular specialty of Nickel was penalty kicks from the stand.

Nickel died of cancer on August 4, 2019.
