Libor Kozák (born May 30, 1989 in Opava ) is a Czech football player . The striker has been playing for Sparta Prague since the 2019/20 season

Club career

Kozák played for SFC Opava in his youth , at the beginning of 2007 the striker was accepted into the professional squad, was immediately given a regular place and was able to repay the trust with goals. In the second half of the 2006/07 second division season, Kozák met eight times in 15 games. The attacker was able to increase this rate in the first half of the 2007/08 season, scoring ten goals in 14 games.

In January 2008 Kozák was tested for a week by the English first division club Portsmouth FC .

Kozák moved to Lazio in July 2008 .

Kozák debuted on May 2, 2009 at the age of 19 years at 0: 2 against Inter Milan in the Serie A . In front of his own audience at the Olympic Stadium in Rome, the Czech made his debut three days later on May 5th when he came on for Mauro Zárate in the 66th minute of the game . On the last matchday of the 2008/09 season Kozák was on the starting line-up for the first time, while Lazio lost 2-0 to Juventus in Turin.

In mid-August 2009, Kozák moved on loan to Serie B division Brescia Calcio . In the summer of 2010 Kozák returned to Rome . On September 18, 2010, he scored the decisive 2-1 winner against Fiorentina in the 67th minute, although he was substituted on for Tommaso Rocchi just seven minutes earlier .

In 2013 he moved to Aston Villa for € 6.5 million, where he signed a 4-year contract.

National team

Kozák's good performance in the second division brought him a call-up for the Czech U-19 team in autumn 2007, and the attacker scored three goals in his first four games. Kozák has been part of the Czech U-21 national team since 2009 .
