Tommaso Rocchi (born September 19, 1977 in Venice ) is an Italian football player who plays on the position of center forward.
Career
In the club
Tommaso Rocchi began his career in the 1995/96 season at Juventus Turin , where he was never used, which is why he moved to Pro Patria in Serie C2 after only one season . There he played regularly and at the end of the season switched to US Fermana in Serie C1 . After only three months, the striker went to league rivals FBC Saronno , where he was a regular in 1997/98.
From 1998 to 2001 Tommaso Rocchi was under contract with Como Calcio . Due to his good performances and his goals, he was recommended for the Serie B club FBC Treviso . For the 2001/02 season Rocchi moved to FC Empoli in Serie B. With the Tuscan club, he immediately made promotion to Serie A , where he made his final breakthrough in the following two seasons.
After FC Empoli was relegated to Serie B, Rocchi moved to Lazio Rome in the summer of 2004 , where he was under contract until January 2013 and formed successful storm duos with players such as Paolo Di Canio , Goran Pandev and Mauro Zárate . Rocchi is one of the most successful goal scorers in the club's history at Lazio, scoring his 100th competitive goal for the Romans on October 30, 2011 against Cagliari Calcio .
Rocchi was also the team captain of Lazio for several seasons and made it into the Italian national team during his time with the Romans .
In his last years at Lazio, however, Rocchi made various injuries to create: In the 2008/09 season , for example, he missed the entire season start, in the 2010/11 season he had to pause for several months due to knee problems. In the first half of the 2012/13 season , Rocchi was only a supplementary player with the Romans and only made three appearances.
In January 2013 he joined Inter Milan . On April 7, 2013, he scored his first goal for the Milanese against Atalanta Bergamo . At the same time, these were to be 100th goal in Serie A. Inter Milan extended his contract, which expired at the end of season, but not and after Rocchi had some time been on club search, he signed the Series B Club Calcio Padova a Contract until June 2014.
In the national team
Tommaso Rocchi made a total of 15 junior internationals for Italy between 1995 and 1996, scoring seven goals.
On August 16, 2006 he made his international debut against Croatia under Roberto Donadoni . So far, Rocchi has completed three games for the Italian senior team .
With the Olympic selection of Italy Rocchi took part in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing . The striker played a game, scored a goal and was eliminated with his team in the quarter-finals against Belgium .
