List of top scorer in the UEFA Europa League

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of top scorer in the UEFA Europa League includes all top scorers in the competition, which has been played as the UEFA Cup since the 1971/72 season and as the UEFA Europa League since the 2009/10 season .

The first top scorer in the UEFA Cup was Ludwig Bründl in 1972 with 10 goals, and the last UEFA Cup top scorer in 2009 was Vágner Love with 11 goals. Jürgen Klinsmann is the record scorer in the UEFA Cup with 15 goals in the 1995/96 season.

Óscar Cardozo and Claudio Pizarro were the first top scorer in the newly created Europa League in 2010 with 9 goals. Record top scorer kings are together Aritz Aduriz , Falcao , Jupp Heynckes and Darko Kovačević with two titles each. With 17 goals from the 2010/11 season, Falcao is not only the record-breaking scorer in a UEFA Europa League season, but also (like Cristiano Ronaldo , who holds the same record in the Champions League) the record holder in the entire European Football Cup - including UEFA Champions League , European Cup Winners' Cup and Exhibition Cities Cup .

Darko Kovačević (1999, 2000) and Falcao (2011, 2012) are so far the only players who have been able to defend their titles from the previous year.
