Andreas Müller (born December 13, 1962 in Stuttgart ) is a former German soccer player and is now a functional .

Career

player

From 1983 to 2000, Müller played a total of 338 games in the Bundesliga for VfB Stuttgart , Hannover 96 and FC Schalke 04 . With VfB, he was 1984 German champions and Schalke won the midfielder in 1997 the UEFA Cup . He also reached the final of the 1986 DFB Cup with VfB Stuttgart .

In 1991 he scored the goal of the year .

After his career as a player, Müller joined the management of FC Schalke 04 and worked there as a manager from Rudi Assauer's resignation on May 17, 2006 until he was given leave of absence on March 9, 2009.

On January 1, 2011, Müller took over 30 percent of the consulting firm GoalSky AG, where he was also appointed to the board with effect from July 1, 2011.

In September 2012 Müller became a manager at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . On April 2, 2013, he and trainer Marco Kurz were released from their duties.

From January 2014 to November 2016 he was the sports director of SK Rapid Wien .

Personal

Andreas Müller is married. The couple have two sons together. The younger son Miles (* 1995) is also a soccer player.
