Michael Stahl (born September 15, 1987 in Diez ) is a German football player . In 2010 he scored the goal of the year .
Career
In his youth, Stahl played for VfL Freiendiez and FC Schalke 04 . The 1.80 m tall midfielder then ran for the U-17s of Sportfreunde Eisbachtal . From there he moved to TuS Koblenz , where he was promoted to the regional league squad under Milan Šašić . In the 2006/07 season he ran for TSG 1887 Wörsdorf in the Hessen League .
In 2007 he moved to VfR Aalen , where he was unable to assert himself under coach Jürgen Kohler . With Aalen in 2008, however, they were promoted to the newly founded 3rd division . He made his professional debut on August 16, 2008 (3rd matchday) when he was substituted on in the 60th minute of the game against FC Erzgebirge Aue . In the winter break of the 2008/09 season he moved again to TuS Koblenz, which now played in the 2nd division , where he was initially under contract as a contract player. In June 2009 Michael Stahl signed a new two-year contract with TuS Koblenz. He made his second division debut on April 12, 2009 (27th matchday) in the game against TSV 1860 Munich . A total of four more missions followed in this and the following season. After relegation to the 3rd division in 2010, he was used much more frequently in the 2010/11 season and became a regular player in Koblenz.
On October 26, 2010, Stahl scored a spectacular goal in the second round DFB Cup match between TuS Koblenz and Hertha BSC : from around 61 meters away, he overcame Berlin goalkeeper Marco Sejna and scored the 1-0. On November 13, 2010, the goal was voted Goal of the Month for October 2010 in the ARD sports show . In January 2011 it was also voted Goal of the Year 2010.
After TuS Koblenz voluntarily withdrew to the Regionalliga West , Stahl left the club and initially did not sign a new contract. At the end of August he finally agreed on a contract with Koblenz and returned to the team. During the 2012/13 season, Stahl remained loyal to TuS Koblenz and extended his contract early on until 2015. After the contract ended, he was without a club until the end of January 2016 and then rejoined the Koblenz team.
