Kasper Bøgelund Nielsen (born October 8, 1980 in Odense ) is a Danish football player . He plays in the position of the right full back .

Career

In the club

Kasper Bøgelund started his career at Brändekilde Bellinge and then moved to Odense BK . Here his real talent was soon discovered and he moved to the top Dutch club PSV Eindhoven , for whom he played from 1999 to 2005. In conclusion, he won the Dutch championship with this club. In 2005 he moved to the Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach . In two Bundesliga years he was used 37 times and scored two goals; these two hits were also the first two hits of his professional career. On August 27, 2005, he scored the goal of the year 2005 in the away game against FC Schalke 04. In 2007 he was relegated to the second division with Borussia. In the 2007/08 season he was represented on the team council in Mönchengladbach together with Oliver Neuville , Sascha Rösler and Patrick Paauwe . However, he had in the team that managed the immediate promotion, only seven appearances in the whole year.

Kasper Bøgelund's contract in Mönchengladbach ended on June 30, 2008. Therefore, Bøgelund moved to the then reigning Danish champions Aalborg BK in summer 2008 .

In the national team

Since his debut against Saudi Arabia on February 13, 2002 , he has made 17 appearances for Denmark . His last appearance in the national selection took place on November 19, 2008 against Wales . During his time with the national team, he was named by coach Morten Olsen in the squad for the 2002 World Cup and in the squad for the Euro 2004 appeal.
